Bethany and Lou celebrated their marriage with in intimate Blackington Inn wedding in Attleboro, MA. The Blackington is a beautiful venue that combines local history, a colorful, well-manicured patio and fantastic food (it smelled so good I took my husband there for dinner the next weekend!). Bethany and Lou wanted lots of candid moments of their closest friends and family, with a priority on photographs of the ceremony. The light was strong and direct during the ceremony itself, but I used some of the greenery around the tent and patio to soften the images and create a way for the eye to be directed to the moment that was being captured.
We started at their home, where the family was gathering and getting ready for the ceremony.
I love this image of dad kissing daughter’s cheek! You can even see the little squeeze. Such a sweet moment. Then it was time for the ceremony. A little tricky to move around and photograph, but it actually worked out beautifully. I found a couple of spots – and felt like a ninja!- that worked wonderfully. Ring bearer holding steady while the groom reaches into the ring box. The officiant’s notebook blocks the boy’s face. This is actually OK in the image, as it draws attention to their hands. I find the repetition of all of their arms and hands quite beautiful! After the ceremony I went across the street with the bride and groom for some portraits. We found a beautiful pool of natural light and worked with it for about 15 minutes. What a collection of images they ended up with!
I love a Blackington Inn wedding! In addition to it being beautiful and intimate, it’s in my community and such a special part of it!
