Bethany and I have worked together several times over the years on weddings in the area. She is the owner of Vine and Vow wedding florals, which are always beautiful! When I found out Mark had proposed I was keeping fingers crossed she would hire me! I have been looking forward to Bethany and Mark’s Whispering Pines wedding since last fall.
The day started a little grey but as I walked in the room where Bethany was getting ready the news came in that the outdoor ceremony was on! Whispering Pines has a wonderful layout for wedding. There are indoor intimate dining rooms, an outdoor covered cocktail and dancing area, and adjoining lawn overlooking the lake for ceremonies. They also have several cabins with lots of room for guests and a wonderful outdoor fire pit. This was my first Whispering Pines wedding, and I am really looking forward to going back!
The main entrance to Whispering Pines has a beautiful yellow door and, thankfully, a covered roof. I stood in the light showers so that Bethany and Mark could have their first look under the roof. We hung out here for a little while for portraits before grabbing an umbrella and exploring the grounds.
This image below is one of my favorites. I love the way he is looking at Bethany, and her natural smile.
This little dock is great – even in the rain! I love that it’s just big enough for two people because I think it makes it more romantic.
Bethany designed the wedding arch with different colors and textures of ribbon. It was very windy that day and the ribbon blew all over. It was actually quite beautiful as it danced around the officiant and the couple. They giggled and untangled it throughout the ceremony. There are several images below showing how much a part of the ceremony the dancing ribbon became.
After portraits it was inside to view some gorgeous handmade wedding details.
The dessert table was fabulous! Layers and layers of cupcakes, cute signs, and bacon!
Dancing took place outside on the covered deck, which is a great spot because it overlooks a beautiful pond!
One last image to end the night! I wanted something that showed the unique, rustic location they chose. There’s that yellow door again, except this time the black and white won out hands down!
