If rain on your wedding day is good luck, these two are set for life! Cinthia and Mark’s Four Points Norwood wedding may have been a little soggy, but the couple and their bridal party was amazing at rolling with the punches and being flexible. They were all smiles all day! That is, truly, the most important thing!
First, we started with getting ready photos at their home and the girls. I covered details and chatted a bit to get to know everyone. The bridal party colors were really lovely, and Cinthia’s home is absolutely beautiful and was wonderful to work in. Cinthia mentioned to me that the interesting little ball flowers in her bouquet were specifically requested because they are her favorite. The rings are always put somewhere meaningful and unique, and those flowers were the perfect spot!
After the girls got ready, the two little flower girls joined them. I love the reaction on the bridesmaids faces!

Then it was off to get married! This image tells it all – can you see how hard it is raining? Cinthia’s family was determined to protect her. So sweet!
The image below is my favorite of the ceremony. I love the expressions on the faces of the couple, and the detail you can see in the gorgeous church they were married in.
After the ceremony ended it was still raining. We ditched plans to go to a local park and took family photos on the altar. The couple and I were going to still head outside but it was really coming down – and now windy, too! So we opted for photos at the Four Points Norwood instead. I think we were all a little disappointed to change plans, but honestly I am so happy with how my team and the bridal party worked together to get wonderful images at the Four Points in their lobby and hallway.
The image of the two flower girls entering the reception is probably my favorite image of an flower girl entrance ever! I love how the sisters are looking at each other, how each one has a foot off the floor in mid-motion, and every single person in the background is totally fixed on them. The couple behind them is actually their parents. A pretty sweet moment!
Many family members had flown in from overseas to attend the wedding. As the father of the groom gave a toast in honor of them, the bride spontaneously blew a kiss to her overseas relatives. That kiss below and her smile shows how much family means to her.
This dad and his daughter were so sweet during their dance. The image below captures when, at the end, their sister joined in for a hug.
Finally, we ventured outside with my team to set up a nighttime shot. It was still raining so hard! But it worked out for us and now the couple has a collection of images that shows exactly how their rainy wedding day felt.
THANK YOU to Michelle and Burt (below) for referring me to this couple! I photographed Michelle and Burt’s wedding so long ago that I used a Hassleblad (pro medium-format camera). Thats film for those who don’t know 🙂 They came up to me at the reception and commented that they knew I was going to be able to do a great job on this day in this hurricane because their wedding was also in a hurricane! I had forgotten that part. It was great to see them again!
