There’s nothing like a Red Lion Inn wedding. Except for one that is snow-covered, filled with warm candlelight and just a few days before the holidays! Amie and Brian’s wedding was filled with warmth from the start. These two have amazing smiles and I knew we were going to have a ton of fun on their wedding day. No matter what! What, in this case, was driving all of my gear at 10mph on rt 93 in a totally unexpected snow accumulation. But, wedding photographers are like mailmen, we do the job no matter what! It was kind of fun to show up early and great to have a little extra time getting ready.
We started in the Salon with the girls. A fire was roaring when I arrived as they were getting hair and makeup done. What a way to set the mood on a snowy day!
Cufflinks are a nod to… I know you know!… the Simpsons!
The veil was a very important detail for Amie. It was her mother’s, so getting some images of them together was a must. I love the light here, and the wood detail behind them.
I used the window light to highlight that gorgeous dress and love how Amie’s shoes pick up just a little sparkle underneath. This image is beautiful in black and white, but I left it in color here because the mustard yellow adds such a nice warmth.
After some time with the ladies it was time to go say hello to the guys, and set up Amie and Brian’s first look. His gaze is totally locked on her – and check out that little smile.
I already said these two were a lot of fun, and the series of them being goofy together seems just perfect. Amie I can’t wait to see if these make the cut for your favorites!
After Amie and Brian’s few minutes in the spotlight, it was time for bridal party photos. The Red Lion Inn’s covered walkways were perfect so nobody’s toes got wet and we were still able to take photos outside. And those colors with the gold dresses and flowers? Yes, please!
The bridal party! One snowy, casual photo and one formal indoor one. Seemed the perfect fit for their day. For such a large group they were amazingly flexible as we moved around the property. Thank goodness for those overhangs!
Finally, it was time to let loose on the dance floor! If only this group knew how to tear it up to a good band. Ha! What a fun wedding to be a part of!
ClockWork Boston did a great job of keeping the crowd on their feet all night. A shout-out to them! My first time hearing this particular group and hopefully not the last. Perhaps we will meet again in 2017 for another Red Lion Inn wedding!
It began to pour just as we snuck outside for one last snowy nighttime photo. They embraced anyway and the result is so sweet and romantic! Thanks for braving the elements and trusting me! A Red Lion Inn wedding for the books!
Finally, a huge thank you to Kristen and Matt. They were married this summer and that’s how I met Amie and Brian (check out their wedding here!). What a truly sweet, amazing family. I’m so glad I got to be a part of both of your celebrations this year! I hope to see you again for future family events!
