Hannah and Jarred contacted me over a year ago to talk about their Camp Bourndale wedding. After chatting away for two hours I knew we were a great match for wedding photography! They were looking for someone to capture lots of candid moments and the energy of their day. Every detail they told me about was so sweet and thoughtful.
Last summer I photographed Hannah and Jarred’s Borderland State Park engagement session. I just loved how excited they both were as they told me about the details of the wedding. Lots of friends and a focus on celebration!
The wedding day began with photographing the groomsmen. We made sure to get a photograph of the 22 tattoo that guided the wedding date to April 22. Then it was off to the bride’s home to see the girls, details, and bride getting ready! Not to be left out, the family dog also got dressed up for the occasion!
The wedding ceremony was held at St. Mary’s Church in North Attleboro, MA. I know this church and the wonderful Father Dave well. It’s always a treat to get to work with him! St. Mary’s just installed new lighting, which I was nervous about at first, however truly it looks so wonderful in photographs. I also love this church because I get permission to sneak around photograph the bride and groom’s faces as they sit and kneel facing the altar. Hannah and Jarred had some really sweet, funny moments that I caught from that angle.
That face upon exiting was because this fireman his new wife had a surprise waiting for them. A firetruck was parked outside the church, waiting to whisk them away! I followed suit, hopped in, and we had an impromptu ride around town.
Finally, it was off to their Camp Bourndale wedding reception! While we drove, the rain began to fall. Inside the reception was 200 guests enjoying a wonderful cocktail hour. Space was limited and I convinced the family and bridal party to take photos outside and brave the chilly raindrops. I owe them all a huge thank you saying yes! A hectic, chilly, slightly chaotic situation led to the group having a blast and their smiles show it!
Finally, it was time for photos of the bride and groom. We were a little behind in the schedule, and thanks to mother nature extremely chilly and very wet! The plan of exploring the grounds out the window completely. At the end of the day, I had just 4 minutes to photograph them alone. If you are planning a wedding you probably know to leave about 45 minutes. Isn’t it nice to know, though, that when necessary you CAN get a selection of beautiful wedding day portraits in under 5? Hannah and Jarred were already having a great time (though chilly!) and their smiles made it work!
The reception began with sweet toasts from family and friends. The rest of the evening guests packed the dancefloor! The band was incredible. Absolutely bumped to my favorites list (when I get the website I will link it here)!
One more surprise for the bride and groom. A flash mob! Their parents and friends organized it and did a great job! I love the brides expressions as she is watching with her bridesmaids.
The sparkler exit marked the end of the reception inside. The party outside, however, was just heating up! Hannah, Jarred, and I snuck over for a couple of last portraits by the bonfire. Things were heating up again with s’mores, food trucks, and a party on the lake when I left!
Thank you, Hannah and Jarred, for inviting me to be a part of your Camp Bourndale wedding!
