Such a treat to spend time with Sandra and Justin before their wedding day arrives in July. We met last weekend for a New Bedford engagement session. The weather was perfect for wandering around the cobblestone streets to find beautiful light and talking more about their wedding. They are so sweet to work with and both have amazing smiles. We ended up with a fabulous collection of images!
We began just outside the Whaling Museum and walked towards an alley the couple found on one of their scouting adventures the weekend before. A great spot, for sure! Lots of stonework and interesting textures to work with. Having a quiet area to chat a little about posing and being in front of the camera is always a great way to start the session. Engagement sessions are wonderful practice for the wedding day. Then Sandra and Justin said the magic words while we talked – they love black and white images! Of course, I made sure to capture a few scenes I knew would make fabulous black and whites.
Tia Maria’s European Cafe was the next stop, and must-have images for the couple. We walked in for coffee (partly for props and partly because it was a little chilly!) and it smelled AMAZING inside. I will definitely be back for not only coffee but dinner – and soon! The cafe made for a wonderful backdrop for some sweet engagement photos. The couple sat in a sidewalk cafe table and spent a few moments sipping and chatting away. It always feels special to capture these moments. An activity that is a normal part of the couple’s life, and a treasured part of their story.
Sandra and Justin, I loved our New Bedford Engagement Session! Really looking forward to your wedding in just a couple short months!
