Sunshine and energy filled Emma and Daniel’s Herreshoff Maritime Museum wedding in Bristol, Rhode Island. We started the day in Bristol at Ananda’s Hair Lounge for Emma, her sister and mom. Once the ladies looked just perfect, we headed over to the Herreshoff Maritime Museum. Their meticulous planning ensured they took advantage of the entire property at the museum. Ceremony chairs were lined up perfectly on the pier, while reception details got finalized underneath the tent. An area for the Tisch and Ketuba signing took up the inside of the the main museum.
Daniel and some friends spent time in the Groom’s suite before the day really got started. Toasts, details, and laughter to start of their day!
Emma and Daniels Herreshoff Maritime Museum Wedding started off with a first look on the pier. After some time with just Emma and Daniel, we utilized the view from the pier for family portraits.
Next, guests joined the couple in the main museum for the Tisch, Ketuba signing, and a toast by the groom. Family and Friends surrounded the couple and broke into traditional song several times.
After the Ketuba signing, family and friends flowed outside to the pier for Emma and Daniel’s ceremony. The Huppah in their ceremony is especially significant, as it holds fabric that represents a special family member. In the images below, the bride and groom are circling each other a symbolic seven times; three times each, then once together.
After breaking the glass, Emma and Daniel danced down the aisle. Friends and family surrounded Emma and Daniel with energy and song all the way up the street to their Yichud, or quiet time together as married couple. I have really enjoyed photographing Jewish weddings throughout my career, but never have I been a part of anything quite like this. The dancing and singing filled the air with an incredible energy!
Finally, it was time for the reception underneath the tent. Starting off with the Horah, every guest was on their feet smiling and moving around the couple and their families. I absolutely love photographing this part of the day as the photographic opportunities are just incredible throughout the entire dance.
We waited until the sun was setting to sneak back out onto the dock for a few more portraits. These two were naturally candid and so much fun in front of the camera.
Thank you, Emma and Daniel, for inviting me to be a part of your incredible Herreshoff Maritime Musem wedding. I will never forget the energy that your families brought to this very special evening!
