Dena and Mike’s wedding had the most fantastic energy. The groom, bride, bridal party, family — they all loved to laugh and have a great time! The wedding was beautiful but I would say my feel from the day was taken as much from the smiles of everyone there as the romantic Newport wedding atmosphere.
Dena and Mike were married at the chapel at Hotel Viking, and then the three of us snuck away for some photography time along the water. We ended up finding a parking spot (yes, a parking spot in downtown Newport!) right in front of the bar where they met. So of course we had to go in! A few quick images at the bar then we were off to Bowen’s Wharf. Wow, was it cold! But Dena and Mike were such good sports and we made it a good 30 minutes before deciding to take our blue fingertips back to the warm cocktail hour. It was time to get a fantastic series of images! They really wanted some photographs of the atmosphere and walking along the wharf, so of course we took advantage of the dusk light and people in the area.
By the time dinner was over, guests were so ready to dance! I included a series of dancing photos because they were just so much fun.
