Morgan and Isaac’s weekend kicked off with a Cape Cod rehearsal dinner on Friday evening. Clients to inquire about weddings in Wellfleet, Truro, and Provincetown typically have ties to the area. Having years of family memories in a special spot makes it an obvious choice when getting married. Morgan and Isaac’s rehearsal dinner was held at Isaac’s childhood family summer home. A perfect spot to celebrate, no doubt!
We started the afternoon with a portrait session, a kind of last-minute-engagement session, with Morgan and Isaac. They wanted to capture the area so, of course, we went to the water! The docks, fishing boats, bright late-summer sun and pier all made it into the session. It was extremely warm out but Morgan and Isaac snuggled up anyway. Anyone who has been photographed by me knows that is a requirement – sky-high humidity or otherwise!
Then we went to the house where close family and friends were waiting and sipping cocktails on the deck. Family is extremely important to this couple, and they wanted several large group photos. Knowing that ahead of time, we ended up scheduling several large family portraits on the evening of the rehearsal. It worked out wonderfully and freed up a lot of time on the wedding day. It definitely pays off to think of these things beforehand!
Then guests gathered around the couple to listen to a jewish blessing by Isaac’s parents. A beautiful, heartfelt toast by Morgan’s mother immediately followed.
This evening was the first time I met the bride and groom. Their Cape Cod rehearsal dinner was a great way to kick off the weekend! It was evident right away that we were going to have a wonderful wedding day the next day! They were all warm, welcoming, and so much fun to photograph!
