My studio is right next door to Dover, MA and I cannot believe this was my first Connors Center wedding! What an incredible treat to be there! Even more-so to work with a family I grew to absolutely adore through our planning process.
I met Katie and her mom for a walk-through of the property a couple of months before the big day. A couple of steps onto the property and I was immediately planned out some must-have images. I found myself completely smitten with the old New England stonework and character!
We started the day at the Brides Home where she got ready with her family and bridesmaids. Smiles all around as the ladies enjoyed their time together in matching robes.
Next it was the First Look. Katie’s parents surprised both Katie and Jonathan with an antique car. It is a family tradition of Katie’s and Jonathan, being a car buff himself, loved it!
After a moment of quiet, we took time before the ceremony for portraits. The couple really wanted to enjoy their cocktail hour. To accomplish that, we did all of the formal images they wanted before guests arrived for the ceremony.
We moved around a lot, with few portraits St. Cecila’s Garden, some in the back by those amazing stone arches, and of course out front as well. We weren’t going to miss any of this stunning location! Posies of Wellesley did a wonderful job on the florals.
One of the fun things about going to a new location is having a fresh set of eyes on a space. While guests were eating, I saw that the french doors in the library were reflecting the cake in a really beautiful way. A few tests shots later I brought Katie and Jonathan in. I’m so happy with this image. It’s private and sweet, and the motion of her dress makes the image feel like a fleeting moment on the wedding day. I photographed into the mirrored door. My back was to the couple, and a light to the side of them set off by remote.
