I love getting to know couples and hearing their stories. \u00a0Every once in a while I have the opportunity to photograph people I already know pretty well, and it is always a treat! \u00a0Lea and Patrick are family, and I cannot wait to attend their wedding next fall. \u00a0I was very excited when Lea asked me to photograph an engagement session for them! \u00a0We had to reschedule a few times (ahhh fall in New England!) but we ended up with an absolutely perfect day for Chase Farm Lincoln RI engagements!<\/p>\n

Chase farm was a new location for me, and I will absolutely be going back. \u00a0Wonderful trails and wide open fields to explore. \u00a0I can imagine my kids having a blast\u00a0running around. \u00a0 It was so open and inviting I wanted to run around! \u00a0We didn’t even get to explore the whole thing and I am hooked.<\/p>\n

Those who know me and my photography style know I avoid open, green grass in photographs at all cost. \u00a0It may be fun to run around but I can always do better for portraits.\u00a0 I prefer a neutral palette and interesting, layered textures. \u00a0We wandered around and chatted about their wedding plans and in the process found several spots that worked well.<\/p>\n

We started just before sunset and the light got better and better as we walked. \u00a0First we found a row of trees, then searched for a bridge (oops – different park!) and finally found a beautiful cluster of birch trees and these colorful leaves.<\/p>\n

I love that these two were willing to be a little playful in front of the camera. \u00a0And for trusting of me, as we walked through a whole field just to get to this one tiny leftover patch of tall grass. \u00a0Layered textures and gorgeous people for the win!!<\/p>\n
