Newborn photography sessions are a great opportunity to capture those sweet interactions with big siblings. Often, younger big siblings (toddlers especially) aren't able to hold the baby, so instead I place the baby on a safe surface, make sure a parent is a spotter for the baby, and then I focus on getting the older sibling to interact with the baby. In this image I asked the toddler to sing a song to their new sibling. It make take a couple of tries (if you have a toddler, you know!) but the resulting image is always so sweet.
My favorite parts of this image are big sister's wide open mouth, singing to the newborn, and the baby's toes poking up catching the light.
