Wedding photography should be something that is part of your day without detracting from or being demanding of it. Hiring a candid wedding photographer means I will be looking for beautiful moments as they unfold. Of course, part of the day is more directed, like family portraits, but most of the day is spent as a fly-on-the-wall documenting people and interactions from across the room. Really - you won't even know I'm taking most of the images!
In this image, a bride and groom has just opened their wedding "crackers" that they handmade for all of their guests. The paper crowns is a family tradition so of course I captured a lot of images of them opening and adorning the crowns. At this point they were listening, and laughing at, the toasts being given before the meal. I absolutely love their expressions and casual, comfortable body language. I decided to include the brightly colored boats in the background of the image because that was also part of their day. They were married surrounded by boats at the Chequessett Yacht Club in Wellfleet, MA.
