Engagement photos should authentically reflect who you are, without the aesthetic or logistical pressures of the wedding day. It's a great opportunity for me to get to know each of my couple's and what kind of images are going to make them really happy on their wedding day.
This couple was so excited to visit the coast that the drove quite a ways to meet me at Sachuest Point National Wildlife Refuge in Middletown, RI. Just a mile outside of Newport, this is a wonderful getaway with a few miles of winding, easy paths along the ocean's edge. For the more adventurous of us, there are paths down to the rocky coast where you can also walk along the ocean that way.
This couple did all of that, and on the way back to the parking lot were so happy and carefree they decided to skip! Camera at the ready (always) I photographed them in their spontaneous moment and it ended up being one of my favorites from our time together.
Sachuest Point is also a wonderful place for family photography and high school senior photos. As long as you bring comfortable walking shoes and don't mind moving around a lot, it's a fantastic location for photographers beyond it's purpose of bird-watching!
