If you are working in the medical field, especially in a patient-facing occupation, an approachable, accurate headshot is so important! Patients want to find someone that they trust and seeing a kind smile really goes a long way.
While many professionals in finance or law like to look a little more serious - maybe with arms crossed (signaling power or toughness) or an expression that says they are going to work to get you to your goals, medical professionals often benefit from coming off a little softer. Especially those working with children! Everyone, even while sick, wants a kind and friendly person to help! I love how approachable, knowledgable and kind this professional comes across.
For this image, I was drawn to the reflective table and wanted to have the doctor hold her stethoscope so that it presented in a soothing friendly way. I used one light to capture this professional headshot, using natural light as the background fill.
