This candid bridal portrait was taken at Belle Mer, 2 Goat Island Rd, Newport, RI 02840. I love this venue for a lot of reasons, but this image itself honestly could have been taken anywhere. After the bridal party had finished their photographs, everyone was moving from one side of the lawn to the other. I saw how the bride was holding her veil, blowing in the wind. The lines of it really caught my eye and so I intentionally frame this image so the veil takes up almost all of the frame. Edited in black and white, the contrast enhances the folds and details in the veil and eliminates what would have been greenery behind her. Her soft, over the shoulder expression is the cherry on top for this image!
Fun fact: (or, not so fun?): This bride had torn her veil earlier in the day. I bet you can't see where I fixed it in photoshop! Yes, before AI so I had to actually use photoshop skills! Hire a photographer who has a few of those in their back pockets - you'll be glad you did!
