Wedding Photography Details

There are lots of times on a wedding day where I need to make a decision about what is the most important thing to capture. When it comes to details, while they always get photographed, they always come second to moments between people that are happening at the same time. Photographing people and relationships always takes priority.

But this moment also begged to be captured. It was a quiet one, where the groom was getting ready before the ceremony. I noticed the henna on his hands, part of a ceremony that happened the day before. It's a symbol of the preparation that happens before wedding vows are spoken and I felt it was something that should be captured. The way the groom laid out all of his wedding accessories caught my eye and I waited until he went to interact with them.

This detail shot of the groom's hand is made so much better by capturing it in action, in preparation for the day. I'm not sure candid detail photographs are really a thing but I made it so here and I'll do it for your wedding too!
