This beautiful bride, her incredible bouquet, and soft veil would have looked so pretty anywhere I took a photo of them. But I chose to place them here on this open covered porch at the West Chop Club for very intentional reasons. When you eliminate the light coming from above, you have control over the direction and intensity (intensity simply by moving the subject towards or away from the light) and you end up with dramatic, flattering light. I love the way each fold in the veil is enhanced by highlights and shadows. The porch is creating incredible depth in the image with one pillar in the foreground. The detail is all intensified in this black and white edit. Fun fact: When I edit images and give the black and white copy, the color version is always in your collection, too. Just know that I I give a black and white it's because I like that version better! Go ahead and ask why - there's always a reason :)
