Martha's Vineyard
The West Chop Club is a private club tucked on the stunning north side of Martha's Vineyard. I went to Martha's Vineyard to photograph for a family I had worked with in the past, traveling by boat the day before to ensure smooth travel.
This location became an instant favorite! I was happy to do a full walk-through the day before the wedding and found the grounds stunningly kept and a huge variety of spaces for photography. I selected a few based on light and shadow for timing and season of this wedding. My goals were to include the ambiance of the buildings as much as possible as they were really the framework for the whole style of the wedding.
I was lucky to be able to make time in the bride and groom's schedule for a sunset walk down to the beach and long pier. Our 10 minutes away from the reception provided an expansive range of images that stand out in their gallery due to the dramatic and romantic sunset colors.
Travel for off-island vendors is definitely a consideration when planning a Martha's Vineyard wedding, but I would encourage you to select someone whose style and approach you love regardless of location. I always travel the day before in the morning to ensure I am on the island in the event of weather or ferry related incidents. This also allows me to have additional interactions with your location and vendors, as I am there to walk the grounds well before your wedding begins.
